Something I've been thinking about lot lately is how many town losses could be avoided if town spent sime time getting themselves coordinated. It's really easy to say "Sight, town is bad" or "Smh, I told you so," but that doesn't really address the problem if you're not then taking the time to say "This is where things went wrong," or "Next time, this is what you should do in that situation." After hosting one-too-many games where town lost not because of scum was better or smarter, but because of the town's own lack of coordination, I threw together a quick guide addressing many of the trends I've noticed. docs.google.com/document/d/1M1gkl_dD5I5IVVZK5Af77Cx9W9WcNjg6LsLFExBkd4E/In your experience, what are some other pitfalls that town tends to fall into? How could they be avoided? I think there's an important conversation to be had here, and while many of these are things I've noticed as a host, I'd really like to hear some input from you guys, too.

I like the guide a lot Personally I'd throw in that cooperation is key I'm not telling you to blindly trust people but too often I see people choosing to forgo discussion for the sake of saying they're above it all This is ultimately a team game and no one man can get it all done by himself
Also I think people should keep in mind the idea that as a team, you're only as strong as your weakest member.

Yeah, that's a good point - you and I spoke about this a bit on Discord, but I think for a lot of people it doesn't really click that as town, your individual survival isn't what's most important--it's not the end of the world if you're mislynched, so long as the team outlasts scum. Empower your teammates to do that.

Like, one thing I've seen a lot of lately is that people will pressure low-content/weak/null slots by policying them--which wouldn't be an issue, except they're jumping straight to the lynching without going through other lengths to get content out of the player. It's like this blend of people a) not knowing how to redeem weak town slots and b) not seeing it as worthwhile (which usually boils down to solipsism or lack of confidence in other players).
Something I appreciate a lot about hawkie, Snaq and Sona's playstyles is that a fair amount of their dayplay is spent developing the rest of the town.

Something I appreciate a lot about hawkie, Snaq and Sona's playstyles is that a fair amount of their dayplay is spent developing the rest of the town. yeah knowing how to read Low Hanging Fruit slots is a very important skill The majority of scumteam members, in my experience, love to find that balance and hide right above the LHF line It means their fake POE always has easy pushes that they know they can get away with and they don't have to put a lot of effort into making reads on those slots phrases like "they haven't done enough" or "they're very underwhelming"
So for a town member to be able to take those LHF slots and figure out whether or not they actually have scum intentions can out the people trying to push them and save the town a couple mislynches. So doing everything you can to drag content out of them is pretty much +EV
It isn't easy and I still have trouble doing it, but the rewards do exist.
And also Sona pretty much taught me how to play town when I started out on these forums. Like I'd invite anyone to go read some of her old towngames on this site ( Champ1604 )
