Game Information:

This game operates with several unique and experimental mechanics, in addition to the normal Mafia foundational structure:

-This is a No Outside Contact Closed Setup. Roles are fully revealed. There are secret conditions in place for certain roles but no hidden bastard roles or mechanics.

-This game is story driven. There are 6 different story endings that can be achieved depending on the outcome of the game. However consider this to be a narrative experience, with no real impact on your gameplay. For all intents and purposes this should function like a normal game with new mechanics.

-The game will take place across two separate game threads, The Past and The Future. Canonically, these threads are set twenty years apart. The player-list, likewise, will also be split across these two threads, with opportunities to engage in Time Travel across both threads.

-The day in each thread will alternate between a reward vote and an elimination vote. Each thread is set on an alternating cycle. Therefore while The Past is voting to eliminate, the The Future is engaging in the reward vote, and vice versa. In order to preserve this sequence, majority is disabled. 

-Time Travel will have lasting effects on the Space-Time Continuum. This means that there may be unforeseen consequences or benefits for certain actions due to Time Travel. 

- Certain roles will be subject to Temporal Distortion. Temporal Distortion will create lasting changes to role abilities.

Rules:

0. I am the host of the game, and my word is law. I reserve the right to modkill/godkill or substitute anyone out those who break the rules.*

1 (a). You can only talk about the game in the game thread unless specified otherwise. Once you are dead you cannot talk to anyone about the game. Knowledge acquired after death cannot be transferred from a dead player to a living player.
1 (b). Outside influences (eg. Threatening, bribes, wagers, promises, alliances, trust tells) are not tolerated and will be dealt with severely.
1 (c). Sportmanship should be shown. Salting, raging or ranting will not be tolerated. At the end of the day, mafia is played for fun. The general rule of thumb is attack the play, not the player.

2. (a) Every user has a role PM image. Role PM images may not be shown to other users at any time. All forms of sharing of role PMs is banned. If anyone finds a person encouraging others to share their role PMs or sharing role PMs themselves, please be sure to report it. Here is a sample role PM image:

2. (b) Flavour claiming is banned. You are only allowed to claim aspects of your abilities, your affiliation and your win condition. You are not allowed to directly quote any of these and must paraphrase in order to share this information.

3 (a). The day in your respective thread will alternate between a standard vote to eliminate and a vote to reward. You may vote in either of these situations during the day by posting in bold "Vote: (user)", and can unvote users by using "Unvote: (user)". If you  desire to withhold your vote then use "Vote Nolynch". Votes will not be counted if they deviate too far from this format. 
3 (b). Votes can be in shortform as long as I understand who you are voting.

4. Do not edit or delete your posts, if you need to correct something make another post.

5. If you do not post/are not active during the day phase, you will be prodded. If you fail to post or require excessive prods, you will be subbed out.*

6. Actions should be sent during night phase through Forum Pm. If you do not have an action, please send an "idle". Failure of sending any actions during the night phase will result in the host deciding your action for you.

7. I might not be in time to end day at deadline or hammer. In this case the game will enter into Twilight. You are allowed to post but not allowed to vote or unvote users.

8. Angleshooting is prohibited. Additionally, refrain from saying anything to influence the events of the other game thread. 

9. Do not try to exploit any loopholes or circumvent the rules.

Pregame Information


Day Mechanics:

On odd-numbered days, players may vote to eliminate someone from the game. All eliminations final.

On even-numbered days, players may instead vote to elect someone. Said elected person will receive the following abilities during the following Night Phase, and for that Night Phase only:

You have gained insight to the events of The Future.

For tonight, and this night only, you may perform either of the following actions, but not both:

- You may swap positions with one other player in The Future. They will take your place in The Past. This change will happen after all other night actions resolve. Travelling through time in this manner may have lasting effects on the space-time continuum.

-You may elect to use a One-Shot Rolestopper for this night only, on a target in The Future. All actions targeting your target will fail.

It was a simple trip to the [REDACTED] Museum of [REDACTED], in beautiful [REDACTED], [DATA EXPUNGED]. Unfortunately, destiny dictated that things wouldn’t be that simple. The world famous White Sky of Castiel Diamond, valued at over [REDACTED] billion dollars USD has gone missing. Someone should find it, I think more than just some jobs are on the line here…..

File A: Senior Officer’s Recant

“We arrived on the scene at around 2pm. I sent [UnitA] and [UnitB] out along the west side of the building and the back, [UnitC] and [UnitD] took the east entrance. [UnitC], [UnitD] and myself stayed at the front. We waited for about ten minutes before deciding to storm the building. After disabling the security lock at the front we entered the building. We proceeded to the Diamond Room at the back of the museum. There, we apprehended three individuals who we placed with [UnitC] and [UnitD] and are now enroute to the precinct. We were unable to locate the Diamond on any of their immediate persons, and none of them claim to know its location. However these three were the only ones in the room when the alarm sounded and the automatic lockdown triggered. Therefore these three are our immediate suspects.”

“After returning outside, the squadron all collectively spotted a half-naked man outside the building who seemed hurt. [UnitB] attempted to talk to him but he fled the scene. [UnitB] looked particularly shaken by the encounter. He kept mumbling something strange and he seemed out of sorts. “

“We surveyed the scene and questioned several who were present outside of the museum. We found evidence of a shooting on the west side of the museum. No body or weapon was found, and blood spatter was minimal. After collecting ballistic evidence we questioned several individuals in the nearby vicinity. We also collected the available surveillance footage for later analysis.“

Notes on File A:

[UnitB] is currently hospitalized due to his catatonic state. There is currently no diagnosis for his condition and he is unreceptive to the available forms of treatment.

The Senior Officer’s story does not account for the lengthy amount of time taken for the suspects to arrive at the precinct. The officers driving the vehicles claimed that they took an alternate route in order to avoid traffic. However none of the traffic maps for the given time period seem to back this statement.
Eyewitnesses have given several strange accounts from the scene at the time of The Diamond’s disappearance. Surveillance footage also seems to have recorded several anomalous events. The evidence of a shooting directly contradicts eyewitness statements. No gunshots were heard anywhere near the scene.

Guess I will just post my thoughts on the future thread for now , as there is nothing happening over here. As far as I can follow Mr ? randvotes OM stressing that it is a randvote , Almost Zero implies that Mr ?'s vote doesnt have a lot of thought behind it (which is what I felt too) and OM thinks that gives him bad vibes . Now heres whats weird

OM seems to assume that Mr ? had actually put some thought into the vote (which was wrong as he himself admits he didnt even know they were townvoting) . He also seems to assume that AZ was aware that " scorr's a pretty proven player with cards held tight" as he puts it. Thats a lot of assumptions and it kinda seems to me that he is being purposefully being chaotic

Also seems weird that AlmostZero immediately backs off and apologizes , which comes off as being weirdly non confrontational to me , unless Im missing something?
