The original goal of Mafia Random Battle was to create a turn based mafia game. This was accomplished by assigning each player a random Pokemon before randomizing the playlist into a turn order. On a player’s turn, they have the option to either vote for a lynch or use one of their moves. The moves available to a player will be determined by the type(s) their assigned Pokemon has. Moves can have a variety of effects on lynches, one’s ability to lynch, or the actions one is able to take during their turn. A full list of moves available (sorted by type), as well as a longer explanation of the theme, is available in the link above.
This theme is nightless, and this particular game will be run with eight players (2 mafia and 6 town). If there is a higher amount of interest, the size may be enlarged to 10 players (3 mafia and 7 town). The mafia will have daytalk. A day ends when all players have taken their turn, and plurality applies on all days. To prevent one voting bloc from monopolizing the game, the turn order will be randomized at the start of each day.
The final thing I will mention here before posting the rules is that the effectiveness of moves factors in, so spamming attacks may not be the best idea. Any super-effective non-status move will instantly kill its target, and any not very effective non-status move is subject to a roll using random.org in which a number above 50 represents success. The results of rolls will be shown. Additionally, you may not lynch and use a move in your turn. Once you have lynched or used a move, the action is locked in and may not be changed, however discussion may continue.

The Actual Rules (Finally)
0. The host's word is law. I reserve the right to modkill or sub anyone out who breaks or attempts to bend the rules.
1. You can only talk about the game in the game thread unless specified otherwise. Once you are dead you cannot talk to anyone about the game. Knowledge acquired after death cannot be transferred from a dead player to a living player. You can, however, make a "bah" post within 24 hours after your death starting with "N" and a reasonable amount of "O"s. You can also talk about how sad you are, but this post must be contentless. (“This includes ‘I can’t believe you lynched me when Player X did Y’ or ‘I guess you win, Player Z.’)
1.5. Outside influences (eg. Threatening, bribes, wagers, promises, alliances, trust tells) are not tolerated and will be dealt with severely. If you are approached by someone who wants to discuss the game outside of the game thread, please inform me with evidence.
2. Every user has a role PM. Role PMs may not be shown to other users at any time. All forms of sharing of role PMs is banned. If anyone finds a person encouraging others to share their role PMs or sharing role PMs themselves, please be sure to report it.

3. Each turn will have a deadline of 12 hours. You may vote to lynch users during the day by posting "lynch [user]" in bold, or “Use
on [target]” in bold if you want to use a move. You may NOT vote to no-lynch. The day will end when the final player takes their turn. Plurality will apply, and nobody will be lynched if there are no votes. Please do not ask when hammer is reached, as lynch-affecting roles are possible.
3.5. If there is a tie at the end of the day, the first user to reach highest number of votes will be lynched.
4. This theme is nightless. There are no night actions and the mafia does not have a factional kill. As soon as the last player has taken their turn and votes have been tallied, a player will be eliminated (or not if there are no votes) and the turn order will be re-randomized, causing the next round to begin.
5. Do not edit your post, if you need to correct something make another post.
6. Only sign up if you know you're going to be at least fairly active. If you do not post/are not active during your turn, you will be prodded. If you fail to post 36 hours after the previous prod or you receive more than 2 prods, you will be subbed out, or modkilled if no subs are available.
7. Do not try to exploit any loopholes or circumvent the rules.
8. It would be wise if you were to be cautious about what you do!
Theme Specific Rules
1. The effects of moves will vary based on their effectiveness. The four possible effectivenesses are as follows:
a. Target immune to attack. This will cause the attack to fail automatically.
b. Target resists attack. If the move is not a status move, random.org will be used to generate a number between 1 and 100, inclusive. If the number is 50 or below, the move will fail. Quadruple resistances be treated the same way as double resistances.
c. Target is neutral to attack. the move will be carried out.
d. Target is weak to attack. If the move is not a status move, the target will instantly die and the move’s effect will be nullified, ending the attacker’s turn. Players who previously voted for or targeted the dead player will not have a chance to change targets.
2. A Pokemon's potential Abilities (ex. Normalize, Flash Fire) do not factor into their effectiveness.
3. This theme uses the type chart used in Gen 6 and 7.
To join, make a post in this thread indicating that you would like to so ("in" will suffice). When there are 8 players, or 10 players if there is a sudden large influx of users, role PMs will be sent out.
Battle between Town and Mafia started! Good luck to all players!
