1. What is 'Walrus'?

But what is Walrus? Walrus is essentially a completely biased song competition, judged by yours truly. There are 8 categories; entrants will select songs that fit these categories and submit them to me for judging. I'll score each song (alongside a brief writeup of my thoughts), award points based on the score, and then whoever has the most points at the end wins.

It's an easy game - just PM me the song which fits into each category.

Scoring system and the types of songs I prefer/dislike are written below.

Let's start with the categories of the Walrus first:

1. All Day Electronic/Gaming 🎮: There is pretty much no human who hasn't used an electronic or played a game in their life. Bring me some gaming/electronic music in this category. Something which gives you the thrills.

2. A Song About Life 😴: We all are alive - and we all live different lives. So, give me a song about how you feel life is! This category is open - any sort of songs is allowed, but it should somehow relate to 'life'.

Examples:

Simple Plan - Ordinary Life
4th Point - Sick of It All

3. Make Champ Cry 😢: I just love emotional songs, for some reason. Give me a song which is capable of making me cry, and get your points. A song in this category must sound emotional.

Examples: 

He is We - I Wouldn't Mind (Listen to this with your earphones/headphones on and the starting guitar chords will sound just beautiful.)
The Fray - How To Save A Life
Bobby Andonov - War Is Love

4. A Love Story 💕: There are just many songs which are just based on feelings - songs about love. A light song with the perfect lyrics is what you need in this category.

5. A Foreign Language 🔤: I believe in the equality of music! Bring me music which is of a language not-English.

INFINITE - Back (K-Pop)
Reol - No Title (J-Pop)

6. Open Category 🤔: This category is open - you can post any song! This includes any lyrics, any genre, anything!

The types of songs I love:

I'm a person who just loves songs - doesn't even matter if it's memes. I at first love calm and songs which can easily soothe my ears, but at the same time, if it's light rock, I just go crazy. I'm a fan of pop, electronic, dance and such stuff. 
What I dislike is heavy metal and really old songs - I'm quite young (15-18), and that's why I actually never checked much of the 20th century.

Song 1: Ratings: 6.5/10 + 0.5 for new song = 7/10
Reasons: The tune was good, but it sounded pretty old fashioned + does not really fit with some of the best NCS and electronicals available today.. still was pretty good.

Song 2: 7/10 + 0.5 for new song = 7.5/10
Reasons: The song did it's job perfectly - it's lyrics were perfect for the category. But sadly, the song wasn't that appealing, sorry.

Song 3: 8/10 + 0.5 for new song = 8.5/10
Reasons: The song sounds really good, truly. Enough to keep me listening to it for long, but sadly it doesn't really make me emotional. Sorry.

Song 4: 7.5/10
Reasons: The song is good and I have heard it loads and loads, but to be honest, I could say that you can find better songs for this category, and to be honest I have listened to this song so much that I can't like it anymore

Song 5: 8/10 + 0.5 for new song = 8.5/10
Reasons: The song is in fact good and better than what I thought it would be. Still not that perfect. One more comment: EEEENNNNERRRRGGGIIIAAAA

Song 6: 9/10 + 0.5 for new song + 1 bonus points = 10.5/10
Reasons: This is where you gain your score. This may be pretty old, but this still has it's electronic vibes. It was pretty smart of you to choose an instrumental for this category, and you got your points for that. If you had played this song in the first category, nobody could have stopped you from getting a whopping 12 or maybe even 13. Nevertheless, this song indeed has it's vibes.

Total score: 49.5/60!

Overall Comments: You did pretty well! I liked some of the songs you chose, and believe me, some songs were unexpectedly pretty addicting and got my mind keep singing it.

Song 1: 6.5/10 + 0.5 for new song = 7/10
Reasons: When I first clicked the video, I thought that it's a meme down there. But well, the song took a big jump when it actually started. It wasn't that pleasing sadly, but it was pretty good overall.

Song 2: 7/10 + 0.5 for new song = 7.5/10

Reasons: This song did fit the category and was pretty good, but yet again, couldn't just be extremely appealing. It was at the end, extremely good, but could have been better. I'm actually surprised I hadn't listened to a Sia's song.

Song 3: 8.5/10
Reasons: Ed Sheeran.. ugh just how much I love him! He's one of my most favourite artist. I consider this to be a fault at my side for not mentioning this before, and thus I must say this - this song is one of my favourites in my emotional playlist.

Song 4: 7.5/10
Reasons: To. The. Point. The category was 'A Love Story' and the song you give is 'Love Story'. Honestly, I didn't become a big fan of the song, but I loved how up to the mark that song was to the category.

Song 5: 8/10 + 0.5 for new song = 8.5/10
Reasons: I had never heard a dutch song before, and thus this song was a song which was to set it's first impression on me. Yeah, this song was representing the whole of the dutch music base for me. And I can say that this song did put a good impression on me - mostly the beats and the main lyrics. Don't get me wrong - I don't mean to say that the rest of the song was extremely bad - I mean, it just wasn't as good, sorry to say.

Song 6: 9.5/10 + 0.5 for new song + 2 bonus points = 12/10
Reasons: This song was the song which just crossed the boundaries. Science says that the first impression of anything is judged within the first three seconds - and those first three seconds of this song was just what almost made me gave the gigantic thirteen, but sadly the progression of the song lowered it's quality. But I have to say, this song was extremely awesome.

Total Score: 51/60

Overall Comments: I have to say - some of the songs just kept my brain singing it. It at times even snatched away my focus on things, and I wouldn't even notice that I'm singing them. Of course, there was room for improvement, but nevertheless, some songs were excellent.

Song 1: 9.5/10 + 0.5 for new song + 1.5 bonus point = 11.5/10
Reasons: This is the type of songs I was looking forward to in this category. This had it's instruments set in such a good way, each tune sounding it's best. This is the song which deserves high points.

Song 2: 7/10 + 0.5 for new song = 7.5/10
Reasons: This song did fit the category and was pretty good, but yet again, couldn't just be extremely appealing. It was at the end, extremely good, but could have been better. I'm actually surprised I hadn't listened to a Sia's song. Also fun stuff - one other user sent the same song in the same category.

Song 3: 7/10
Reasons: Ah, this song brings back memories. The days when I was looking for emotional songs in nightcore. (Yes, I started to listen to nightcore for the emotional songs.) I had stumbled upon this song and did like it, but to be honest, it isn't up to the mark. I mean, personally, this category could have been better, but this song still had itself some sadness waiting for me.

Song 4: 7.5/10
Reasons: I had a hard time scoring this one. This sounds so good, but I just couldn't give it a high score. It's lyrics are good too, but I just can't - I mean, I had high expectations for this category since this category is extremely vast, but you still did a good job finding this one.

Song 5: 7.5/10 + 0.5 for new song = 8/10
Reasons: The song itself sounded extremely soothing and calming, but it too, had it's flaws. It well, was of pretty high pitch, and that high pitched sound wasn't extremely melodious to my ears. I wasn't sure about the lyrics for obvious reasons and thus asked Leafage about it, and well yeah it's as you said - "the translated lyrics are as lovely as the tune".

Song 6: 8.5/10
Reasons: This song is itself in a continuous flow and keeps the tune going on. This song has it's beats too - some good and some, sadly, not up to my expectations. It's lyrics are extremely 'beautiful' ( ) too. But well, yet again, this category was open and I was honestly, expecting something which would just blow my mind.

Total Score: 50/60

Overall Comments: Some songs were really beautiful, while some really gave my ears a peaceful time. Some made it go crazy, while just got control of my body and made me feel that I must immediately just start dancing. I loved this diversity, as well as the songs you gave me. Thanks for giving me such excellent songs!~

Song 1: 9/10 + 0.5 for new song + 1 bonus point = 10.5/10
Reasons: Exactly the types of songs I was looking forward in this category. This OST just kept me active through each and every beat of it. From the drum beats to the cello/violin song input, everything was just.. crazy. Well done.

Song 2: 8.5/10 + 0.5 for new song = 9/10
Reasons: Why.. Just why did I give it a 8.5? I wonder that myself too. Probably because of it's lyrics? It's lyrics just fir so perfectly - the actual aspect of life. Or because of it's tune? It's comical tune and rhythm - it just sounded so perfect with the lyrics. I have to say - this song was one of the best for this category.

Song 3: 6.5/10 + 0.5 for new song = 7/10
Reasons: Quite a letdown after two excellent song, sorry to say. This song had it's high pitched tunes to make it sound emotional, but it's lyrics and the song itself wasn't that good, to be honest. It's just that, I have heard many better emotional songs than this, and that's why I just couldn't find it that good.

Song 4: 8/10
Reasons: Payphone and Maroon 5 - Yeah, this is one of the best. I never though anyone would use thing song in this category, being honest. This song has established itself in history, and yeah, is one of the best. From it's lyrics and and it's melodious tune - it really is something. I would consider it a fault at my side - since I never mentioned about this - but I have just listened to this song enough to not be able to give it a very high score, to be honest.

Song 5: 7.5/10
Reasons: This song is good, addicting and whatnot. Forget me, this song is famous enough to google up and find a good review which I can copy/paste. I won't say anything to you, and I know that this category was indeed difficult for you, but I have listened to this song enough to yet again, not bring out myself to give it a good score. Also, do check the meaning of the lyrics - pretty sure you won't see it the same again.

Song 6: 8.5 + 0.5 for new song = 9/10
Reasons: Okay, so at first, when I read the name of the song, I was like 'Why is he sending a meme song *sigh*'. Okay now, guess who was wrong? This song just reversed my first thoughts. In the very first five seconds, from 2/10 it went to 8/10. It kept it's consistency throughout the song, and well, is the only semi-rock to be sent this game. I have to admit - this song was pretty cool and funky.

Total Score: 51

Overall Comments: Everything was just unexpected. Some songs toyed with me, just being stuck on my mind for long. I broke the replay button for almost all of the songs, and now I have to pay the fine to YouTube. Anyways, the songs were just excellent.
