Welcome to a thread I decided to make!
What is a multiball theme, you may ask? A multiball theme is any mafia theme with two distinguished and different scum factions with relativity similar amounts of members, all trying to win by themselves against town and the other scum faction(s).
Here, we talk about anything and everything to do with the increasingly popular multiball themes.
From discussing benefits to drawbacks to these themes, strategies, balance discussion, multiball theme creations, and notable game examples, feel free to post thoughts here.
(For the record, I love multiball themes, as they are prime times to hone up finding scum-scum interactions.)
Example multiball themes include Fire and Ice and Kill All Townies.

it can work, and it's a pretty interesting setup, but i just dont think that it's more fun than vanilla "one faction of baddies" mafia

As the room's resident Multiball Hoe, I'll throw in that MB setups work best when they encourage scumhunting and thoughtful NKs from all factions.

F&I really propagates thoughtful scum actions beat me to it i was gonna mention how i think F&I is one of the best It's unique, requires thoughtful actions for both scum and town, and thinking properly can clear towns and help town win, or help either one of the. mafia factions win

Just going to mention the Super F&I we did earlier: 3 Fire Mafia, 3 Ice Mafia, 3 Electric Mafia, 3 Macho Doctors, 13 Vanilla Townies (25p). Kills only work if only one Mafia targeted that person. Kills on Macho Docs can be prevented if kills neutralise each other. Regardless I really like multiball overall! But it's very tricky sometimes as power scum to avoid nightkills by the other team at times. It's a delicate balance. A thing that hurts Multiball IMO can be the inability for town to win (especially as all faction winrates become more equal). All factions should feel like their ability to win is in their hands, and doesn't just rely on crosskills. It's alright if a theme needs a crosskill at some point, especially if it's very likely. But it shouldn't need ones often at all. If anything, I think that if you're trying to balance a Multiball game with over two scum factions, or large ones for power reasons, you probably want to look into limiting their kills (X-Shot, alternating nights, etc.) and honestly, if it's for power reasons nerf town a little too. It can also be cool to give town more killing power / doccing power. Pretty interesting
