Hi guise!
So I realized that we don't have a Dethy strategy thing for scumhunting. Since this is a theme that is played often when the room is quasi-dead it does need to be discussed imo.
Most people seem to rely solely on logic or solely on their vanilla scumhunting tactics. I think it would be beneficial to discuss what strategies you guise use and what seem to be the most viable tactics. Be clear whether you are discussing the unbalanced, balanced, or balanced-with-self-inspects version.
I have created a Dethy table template for you guise on sheets on Google Drive if you want to c/p and try out some certain scenarios which can be found here: tinyurl.com/DethyTables
Have fun discussing!

1) If town loses at Dethy, and the mafia did not do perfect fake inspects, then it's sad, just... Sad. 2) In my opinion, at the very least mods should never allow NLing (what we call 'balanced' dethy). My preferred dethy setup is for the game to start at N1 where Mafia can kill, but allow NLing. 3) Use some common sense, people. If there is a confirmed cop D1, inspect them. 4) Always, ALWAYS, have your inspections copied and ready to ctrl+v into the chat the moment Day begins. This prevents quick-thinking Mafia in a pinch from faking investigations with the foresight of the real town's inspections. After this strategy becomes meta, use it at all times and in all places. 5) The person who uses Google Tables wins the game.

Transmuter has a thing on the website for confirming people, now refer to citrus, aside from number 2, which is just meh

You can literally never win as a cop on Day 1 with the tables. Transmuter's method of clearing, which may take longer, is actually easier to understand and quicker to fill out. It's also easier to explain your logic to people who don't use the table.

TheWhoDoctor, how is the tables method ridiculous? Of course it is nearly impossible to win Day 1 in general. Tables can be used to check every scenario, clear people, and narrow down who is mafia. It may take a bit of time, but it is foolproof. I'm not sure what Transmuter's method is (I'd love to see it), but tables are perfectly legitimate.

Staff tips on the weebly has the Transmuter guide to Dethy. It involves the same way of checking scenarios but allows for total verification of someone's condition in many cases (Sane/Insane/Naive/Para) in that if, in all cases, 1 person is insane/para, they then can't be sane, so you know someone else must be sane, and work from there.

The reason I like using tables is because you just need to think of true false scenarios with each user. You don't have to keep track of the sanities in your head if they are on paper for you.

Edit: I can also win day 1 also, the table thingy is exactly like my tips from staff. Same idea. Just use what you think is easier for you. For me, it's easier to just think about it and not type stuff.

The number of people who can win on day 1 has become so large that it's not even an achievement anymore.
I personally like Trans's method, and it's the one I use to win (as cop, I find it nearly impossible, and rightly so, to win as mafia)

rssp1, yeah its true its difficult to win as mafia. In unbalanced, you are never guaranteed a 50/50 on a mylo or lylo. But in balanced, there is always a way to force a 50/50 (at least in all the games i've hosted/played). I wonder if there is a way to make the game balanced so the mafia has a chance of a guaranteed win on a lylo.... ? maybe not that doesnt make sense lol

I'm not quite sure that's true... 3 nights of inspections in unbalanced is enough to screw over a mafia with the right combination of inspections and deaths.

I never got why people feel like winning as Mafia in Dethy is impossible. It really isn't, just use your heads. Playing as mafia in dethy is one of my favourite things, cause you get to like manipulate everything. You get to pretend you're one of them, you get to try and understand what cop everyone is, you're trying to come up with a plan, "who to kill first?" "should I kill the sane cop and pretend I'm sane?" "should I leave the insane cop, and pretend I'm insane by making my inspect be that he is the mafia?". It's just strategy and being focused the entire game. There's no "Imma be afk for 2 days, just gonna lurk, and somehow win" in Dethy.
umm, isn't that true for ALMOST ANY THEME THAT HAS A COP? There will always be that one game where everyone gets perfect inspects and you're screwed. Same thing applies to classic, there will always be that time where Cop gets you night 1 (or even worse PL blocks you and cop inspects you). I really don't understand why people feel like Dethy is so unbalanced, cause it's not. We have way more unbalanced themes *cough*Lighthouse*cough*. Anyway enough ranting lol, would love a legit response to this.

I think unbalanced dethy is rather unfair for the mafia due to the chance of a guaranteed lose. In balanced dethy, I don't think there is ever a guaranteed loss on the mafia's part. If someone can make a scenario which shows that unbalanced dethy is just as unbalanced as balanced dethy, that would be cool.
