Writing this thread after all the messed up quote posts I had to go through for Forum Fish 3
Quoting Posts 1)Find the post you want to quote 2)Click "Quote"
And then it should look like this:
If you want to get fancy, go ahead and hit the "BBCode" Tab
From here, you can edit the quote's contents, which is handy for when you need to shorten those lengthier, padded quotes. You can also highlight, italicize, underline and bold key words and phrases.
Multi-quoting So say you have more than one post that you want to quote 1)Find the posts you want to add to your reply 2)For each one, click the gear icon, and from the drop-down menu, click "Select Post"
3)After you have everything selected, scroll to the bottom and hit "Reply". You'll end up with something like this:
You can hop into the BBCode tab here and reorganize them if you feel the need.
Those are the basic techniques, so I'll just end off with some tips: -Try to avoid making massive quote-walls. You'll often find that the other players might ignore the content you have because it's too difficult to read. -If you're quoting a massive post and you're only responding to a small segment of it, then shorten the rest of the quote to save scroll time. -Try to avoid responding to quotes by writing in the quote box. It makes your posts harder to read. If you're having issues clicking outside of the quote box, then just switch to the BBCode Tab and start typing outside of the [/quote] tag. -Experiment with using links to posts instead. You can embed links into your posts with the "Link" Button.
-This last one is a bit in the subjective side, but often I'll see people bolding responses within the quotes. This often interrupts the flow of reading, especially if the original post had bold within it as well.
That's all from me, thanks for reading!

IMO I prefer spoilered quote walls to links to post. What do you think?

IMO I prefer spoilered quote walls to links to post. What do you think? Depends on what the quote wall is, if it's like a case or iso breakdown then it makes sense, but links are also applicable in those situations.

Unrelated to the game, but I wanted to say that I find this way of responding to a post very nice. Italic can be hard to distinguish in a large post, and bold can be obnoxious. Adding the orange shade to the responses makes it much clearer, in my opinion. I'm a bit late, so I'll just start with a readlist. 1) Fenrir - Scumlean Something about his townread on Tbowl feels really off to me. "Currently giving Thunder a soft townlean based on his differentiating between the main scumteam and the Traitor in his reads." First off, how does differentiating goon vs. traitor signify town? Why would scum be less likely to do this? I don't follow this line of logic. I also strongly agree with what WholeLottaGangShit said very recently, regarding finding the traitor. It's near impossible because I think Mafia most likely recruited the traitor, and even if they didn't, there is only one traitor who would act just like a Townie since they don't know their partners. I don't like this read
1. This is a huge REACH to slap a scumlean on him for given what reads you've given other players, this just seems like a weirdly weak reasoning in comparison to the strength of reasoning in relation to your other reads here. 2. Solo scum and Group scum act differently, even if they are in the same alignment in the end. There are slight differences, and hunting the differences helps setup spec and applies pressure on the killing side of the scumteam. There are a lot of "If"s regarding the theme, but cases have been built considering both branches, and your counter-case here only relies on one of the branches. 2) og villain - neutral/town Nothing about him is giving me any scum vibes. He seems pretty relaxed. I'd like to see him under pressure just to see how reacts, but there's really no need to do so as of right now. 3) ForgotToFlush - neutral He's a very cunning player, so I'm refraining from townleaning him this early even though his actions seem town. I'd like to see him go CAPS mode. What's the difference here? OM Room is Neutral/Town because he isn't giving you scumvibes, but FtF is Neutral because he's cunning and therefore his Townie actions (in your own words) are invalidated? What about OM Room makes it so that "not being scummy" is a call for Neutral/Town when "cunning as scum" for FtF makes his "Townie actions" Neutral? Cunning players as scum will still act Townie as town, and Scum will still try not to give scum vibes as scum.4) XnadrojX - townlean Although I don't really agree with his reads, he has solid reasoning and it seems like his wolfhunting is coming from a genuine perspective. I like being TRed, and I like being recognized for being genuine, but I don't think YOU'RE being genuine here. As the maker of my own arguments, I absolutely do not think the arguments I made were any stronger than OM Room's or Fenrir's. If you don't agree with my reads, fight me on them please. Presenting alternative ideas will only help Town. I don't like how you chose to "Townlean" me but still slip in a way to discredit me. Fight my reads if you don't like them. Townlean me for knowing I'm genuine if you want to. But I need an explanation as to how my reasoning is "Solid" while Fenrir's and OM Room's aren't.9) WholeLottaGangShit - neutral/town Nothing really AI out of him yet, but I'm liking his contributions, particularly the comment about traitor recruitment. Same argument here as what I said about OM Room, ForgotToFlush and Myself. Also, wouldn't you agree that you only TR him for traitor recruitment point because you also think so? If I agreed with all your reads here, wouldn't that be an easy TR on the basis of mindmelding for me?11) motogp - neutral Not enough information here. He sounds a little defensive, but he was also like that in a past game where he was town. I would be fine with your "Neutral" reads if they were a bigger distinction between them and your "Neutral-Town" reads.12)bluegummybear7 - town Ignoring the strange capitalization, I think he's town because he's drawing attention to himself by saying something along the lines of he plays how he wants and that he might come off as scummy. This is also a bit of a gutread, but his tone comes off as genuine. Drawing attention to oneself is not a towntell. It can be used as such with context, but without providing context, nor explaining it, it's as strong as reasoning as a wet noodle. And you place him as such a solid "Town" too, which also conflicts with the way you've made the rest of your reads.Responses in Italicized ORANGEI pretty much disagree with over half of his reads, and I strongly feel with Fen when he calls this out for having an agenda. Gonna keep my eye on this slot too. Will post more... when I can
