Venice Mafia
(Written by mymemoryisbad )
Bored of your average 10p themes that often just end up being something like Lighthouse? Well fret no more, as Venice Mafia is a spiffy new 10p theme that can fix your woes! The theme is based around the role of Blackmailer, which kills your target’s target- it’s not as complex as it seems though. Mafia has a factional blackmail rather than a factional kill, and to ensure this blackmail actually ends up killing, there are Tourists instead of VTs. The PRs- Whitemailer and Tracker, are also both compulsive, once again, to help with the blackmail killing. To add, these PRs are Fragile, meaning if the Mafia targets them, they’ll die. However, the Mafia's kill is still not guaranteed. Blackmailing anybody who visits a Mafia member will not result in the Mafia’s death, meaning while a kill can be avoided, the Mafia will still live. Additionally, the Mafia have a Rolestopper/blocker to help them successfully perform a blackmail and to deal with PRs.
Anyway, enough mechanic talk. Some interesting interactions that you can often take advantage of (as town) is having people claim who they visited- a person should generally be visiting their SRs, as if mafia hit themselves through blackmail there will be no NK. You can also always check on who visited who to catch a slip. Tracker can also help to confirm these things- but the Roleblocker/stopper can also affect visits! The Roleblocker/stopper also has an interesting interaction with Whitemailer. Normally, if the
whitemailer and blackmailer end up hitting the same person (target’s target), they wouldn’t die. But the rolestop part of this role is able to block the whitemail, but not the blackmail. While there’s plenty to deduce from a compilation of actions during the night, Mafia can subtly change these… try not to get too caught up on the night!
If you get 10p, Check out Venice Mafia!
