NAR HELL
Hello and welcome to NAR Hell, imagining perhaps the worst case scenarios that you, as a host, may receive. You will receive a list of 20 player’s roles and actions, and are tasked to determine precisely what should occur by the rules of Natural Action Resolution (NAR), PS Mafia’s action resolution method of choice. I’ve made two identical versions of the puzzle, one with mafia player names, and one with letters, feel free to use whichever is easiest in your head. At the end you’ll see a couple footnotes that I thought were necessary clarifications, and on the final page I’ve copied all the role descriptions for the roles used in this puzzle. Submission
How to submit: I have made a google form for you to submit if you want, but I’ll take a copy you make of a google doc, a picture of hand written notes, a pastebin, whatever is easiest for you. However, submissions should individually include how every role gets resolved, not a big paragraph of all the events that occur. Example phrasing of how some random interactions may get resolved (your submission should look like a list of 20 of these, don’t worry about specific formatting just make sure all the info is there):
Mafia Room Bot (Cop): Redirected to the mafia friend, but receives “town” due to psychotrooper
Universal Backup (Celebrity): Dies, host reveals that CA targeted the celebrity
Officer Jenny (Mafia Host): Kill succeeds, can now privately talk with UGO Bot
Feel free to submit multiple times!
A brief note on NAR: Far, far too many people think NAR is just this priority list taken from the actual NAR page
In case of emergency breakdown of the Golden Rule
If there is really no other option, the traditional recommendation of Natural Action Resolution is to pick whichever of the conflicting actions comes first on the following list, and resolve it first:
Copy
Hide
Bus Drive
Block
Redirect
Protect
Miscellaneous
Kill
Recruit
Inspect
Do not use this list unless actions are actually in conflict; that is, that both affect each other.
If only one of the actions affects another, resolve that one first, regardless of the positions on the list.
This list is not NAR. Notice the 4 (!!) separate sentences telling you not to use this list except in emergencies. NAR can be summed up in a single phrase: Apply actions which modify other actions before the actions they modify. Or more simply, 1: Find an action (or a passive modifier, such as Bulletproof) such that its effect cannot possibly be modified by any other action. 2: Resolve it. 3: Repeat from step 1 until all actions are resolved. The list is for when two actions affect modify other such that one can't be resolved before the other, and I can only think of a single instance in the entire puzzle where you should require this list (and just to be super sure no one uses it wrong, its for avoider vs multiplier, which avoider should beat out). Not to belabor this, but I do not think I will be able to forgive you if you try to use this list, or ask me whether a reflexivizer counts as a blocking role or misc role or something because it does not matter.

Role descriptions:
These are all copied directly from PS/SI2 doc, don't worry about any hidden changes/hints in here
Reflexivizer: Each night, you may target a player. That player's action will be blocked for the night and will instead be applied reflexively.
Murderous Vigilante: Dies if for any reason it doesn’t cause a death at night. Can kill someone at night
Bus Driver: During the Night, you may PM the host the names of two players. People who targeted either of these players will instead target the other one.
Confidant: During the Night, you may PM the host the name of another player. You will use the same action as the target, on the same target as them.
Card Dealer: Anyone who targets you, will have their role replaced by a random other role.
Judge: During the night, you can PM the host the name of a player who was on the person voted out the day prior. If they are of a different alignment than the player that was voted out, they die.
Multiplier: During the Night, you can PM the host the name of another player. This player's action will target all players in the game.
Vanilla Townie: Town player without any additional abilities.
Contrary: Your action only succeeds when it'd fail without this modifier.
Celebrity: It will be publicly revealed who targeted you each night.
Mafia Psychotrooper Button (When this role is targeted, all investigative roles are insane for the night)
Wild Card: During the Night, you may PM the host the name of another player. All actions used on the Wild Card, except kills, are redirected to the target.
Flip Flop: Every odd Day and Night, you are aligned with the Town, and every even Day and Night with the Mafia.
Gambit Public Cop: Action only succeeds when the user dies that night. Inspects Town/Not Town
Avoider: During the Night, you may PM the host the name of another player. If this player targeted you with an action, this action fails.
Compatibility Checker: During the Night, you may PM the host the names of two players. You will get to know whether they are COMPATIBLE or NOT COMPATIBLE, depending on whether they are the same alignment or not.
Oracle: During the Night, you can PM the host a question about the setup of the game. They will answer you with YES or NO.
