Hiya, some post-game thoughts from me:
Game activity was obviously really low which was disappointing! I’m not sure what I could’ve done to prevent that or up activity during the game. We had a lot of people straight up AFK for most of the days or the one person who got subbed in unfortunately couldn’t play after signing up as a sub & I couldn’t find a replacement for them.
I think town had some okay moments. There were several town members who did have either near-correct reads or at least 1/2 of the team solved but they quickly died with very little further investigation or consideration from the remaining towns people.
The game was very stagnant from day one, and, without discrediting Mafia's gameplay here, the Mafia team didn't have to do a whole lot in order to take the win because the town effort was so low. In fact, the highest posters from the first day were Jester + Mafia team.
This game is a pretty perfect example of activity mattering, of course, but also the importance of just...getting something out of eachother. I mentioned this in the spectator chat but I also thought there were plenty of clues into the scum team just based on...well...extremely low WIM from objectively very good town players. Even if you can't earn the conclusion of Clouds/Prodigu as the team, alarm bells should be ringing when their effort is ~approximately matching the rest of the playerlist throughout the days when they are otherwise very proactive and efficient players in virtually any other game they play.
In all seriousness, though, I think both Clouds/Prod played nice games and knew not to overextend when they really didn't have to and made the right nightkills within people they knew might...do something or do anything at all within the thread.
As a sidenote, don't bother hosting if you're working stupid hours a week lols, sorry for some shoddy hosting on my end & late deadlines - capitalism is fun for sure. |
