WIP, could use testing / discussion. Thanks to Prodigu and commanderawesome for some discussions about the theme.
In this theme, all players will have a Survivor wincon alongside their normal wincon. i.e., Mafia needs to achieve their wincon AND survive to win.
You and your friends got cast away and are stuck on an uninhabited island... Each day, you may vote someone out, who will be sent away on a raft onto the open ocean. Here, they will send out a smoke signal.
Then at night, the Coast Guard may decide whether to rescue the sent-away player (Mafia do not get a night kill). The Coast Guard is a special role, who wants to create its own Town! They will not be included in the normal game chat, and will instead be in a separate game chat. However, they can observe normal game chat. Only if a player is not rescued, will their role be revealed. Any player who is rescued, will instead join the Coast Guard's game.
Specifically, the Coast Guard chat will vote on whether to rescue a player or not (with short deadlines). Each rescued player has a single vote, and the Coast Guard gets a double vote.
Only once the first game ends, will the Coast Guard play its game with its rescued players. If all rescued players are Town, they and the Coast Guard win immediately. Otherwise, another game is played, where the Coast Guard retains its double vote, with the remaining players. Here, the Coast Guard does not count for endgaming purposes. Mafia win whenever #Mafia > #Town, where the Coast Guard does not count as town.
If fewer than three Vanilla Townies are revealed as Town, the Coast Guard is only expected to rescue at least an equal amount of players compared to the number of Vanilla Townies revealed. However, this will immediately lead to endgame.
