Contact and Communication: No Outside Contact. Mafia are allowed to communicate with their partners through the provided medium.

Rules:
0. I am the host of the game, and my word is law. I reserve the right to modkill/godkill or substitute anyone out those who break the rules.*
1 (a). You can only talk about the game in the game thread unless specified otherwise. Once you are dead you cannot talk to anyone about the game. Knowledge acquired after death cannot be transferred from a dead player to a living player.
1 (b). Outside influences (eg. Threatening, bribes, wagers, promises, alliances, trust tells) are not tolerated and will be dealt with severely.
1 (c). Sportmanship should be shown. Salting, raging or ranting will not be tolerated. At the end of the day, mafia is played for fun. The general rule of thumb is attack the play, not the player.
2. Every user has a role PM. Role PMs may not be shown to other users at any time. All forms of sharing of role PMs is banned. If anyone finds a person encouraging others to share their role PMs or sharing role PMs themselves, please be sure to report it.
3 (a). You may vote to lynch users during the day by posting in bold "Vote: (user)" or "Lynch: (user)", unlynch users by using "Unvote: (user)" or "Unlynch: (user)". Votes will not be counted if they do not follow this format.
3 (b). Votes can be in shortform as long as I understand who you are voting.
4. Do not edit or delete your posts, if you need to correct something make another post.
5. Only sign up if you know you're going to be at least fairly active. If you do not post/are not active during the day phase, you will be prodded. If you fail to post after the previous prod or require excessive prods, you will be subbed out.*
6. Night talking is disallowed.
7. Extensions will be granted according to the situation.*
8. Actions should be sent during night phase through Forum Pm. If you do not have an action, please send an "idle". Failure of sending any actions during the night phase will result in the host deciding your action for you.
9. I might not be in time to end day at deadline or hammer. In this case the game will enter into Twilight. You are allowed to post but not allowed to vote or unvote users.
10. Angleshooting is prohibited. This is included but not limited to submeta, hostmeta and using out of game information to form reads. Punishable by modkill.*
11. Do not try to exploit any loopholes or circumvent the rules.

Abilities: Each night phase, you may attempt to protect one player in the game from being night-killed. In addition, you cannot be protected from night kills.

Win Condition: You win when all threats to the town have been eliminated.

Role: One Shot Vigilante
Alignment: Town
Abilities: Once per game, you may attempt to kill one player at night.

Abilities: You may target one player per night. You learn if the player you target is aligned with the player you inspected the previous night.

Abilities: Factional Nightkill, Factional Communication. Additionally, once per game you may activate your strongman ability so that your kill cannot be prevented by any means.

Win Condition: Control at least 50% of the player base, AND all other threats have been eliminated.

Role: Mafia OS Paranoid Gun Owner
Alignment: Mafia
Abilities: Factional Nightkill, Factional Communication. Additionally, once per game, you passively kill anyone who targets you.

Abilities: Once per night, you may attempt to kill one player at night. Additionally, you are passively protected against the first kill performed on you.

Win Condition: You win when you are the last player alive or nothing can prevent this from occurring.

Role: Night 5 Black Goo Compulsive Lightning Rod Cultist
Alignment: 3rd Party
Abilities:During night five, all targeted actions are passively directed towards you. Additionally, everyone who targets you that night will be converted into cult members.
Your associates: Yourself, until you convert other players to be your fellow cultists.
Win Condition: Control at least 50% of the player-base

The Year is 1999.
A lot of things happened this year. I would list examples but that would spoil the flavour, so take my word for it.
Speaking of flavour, researching it for this game made me realize some important things. This year was not the end of the millennium. According to the Gregorian Calendar, that would be 2000. So you might be wondering, "hey FTF, why didn't you just call it Countdown 3: 2000 instead and have 2000 themed flavour instead?" Well that's less catchy.
Another thing I realized, was that this is actually the 4th one, because I hosted Countdown 2.5 in between last year's game and this one, but Countdown 4 is also less catchy.
Aside from that this year was significant. Last of the 90s kids, last year starting with 19, aforementioned things that I cannot spoil. Consider this a celebration. We'll be going through many newsworthy events that probably happened before most of you were born. This might even serve as an impromptu history lesson.
.....And there you have it. We're counting down to the big Y2K! Will the world end? Who will win? Will there be another Countdown game? Will FTF stop needlessly asking questions to make his flavour seem longer? These questions and probably more will be answered in:

Ngl it took me a second to realize that the flavor was 1999 and that this wasn’t some hellish nightmare version of 1999. Vote Chad down with all chads! I’m glad to be doing another No OC forum game, since it’s simpler and involves actual playing. I’m also glad that this will discourage lurking, so scum can’t just lurk til lylo.

I have 0 idea why a surv claims on d1 risking being nked/lynched rather than hoping to be recruited on n5. if we don't get a good lynch by dl, I would recommend getting this slot out of game. |
