Postgame Report

Acknowledgments

First things first, a huge congratulations and thank-you to everybody who played not only this game, but also all who took part in all of the other Summer Circuit Events. Then I'd love to give a huge thank you to all those who agreed to sub in and remain active, because this game could not have been completed with all of you. And I must congratulate Veteran Padgett on an excellent performance and win.

Finally, a huge congratulations to everybody: hosts, players, spectators and otherwise on another Summer Circuit in the books.

Game Thoughts

The elephant in the room is activity. Town suffered from a disproportionately high number of inactive players in the early phases and we saw this disparity manifest itself as an early advantage for the scum factions. Xnad and VP stood out for being effective town-leaders as solo scum. Both were widely trusted in the early phases and as a result town struggled to get it going early on.

Despite the early setbacks, Town mounted an impressive comeback from Day 3 onward. Quojova, neo and ptsd pulled town together and started shifting the momentum back to town. With the Serial Killer eliminated after N2, and a strong player subbing in for the Mafia team, one would think that history was going to repeat itself and that we'd see another Countdown Mafia sweep. But it was not to be, as Town mounted their last stand and voted out all three mafia consecutively.

This strong display was unfortunately cut short by a star-making performance. Not to take anything away from town, because I think after Night 2 they pulled it together but we saw dominant display from VP, who helped box the Mafia in and ensured that their own win-con was safe.

Ultimately town will look back and regret some of their choices. Days 1 and 2 were relatively uneventful. Across the board one can find mechanical mistakes in the Town's night play.

Despite all this, there's a lot to be proud of here, and a lot to learn. Good job everyone.
